David started his journey two weeks after high school with a culinary apprenticeship at Sanford Restaurant, an amazing experience for a 17-year-old. Over the years he’s travelled to New York and Chicago cooking benefit dinners and met Robert Mondavi, Julia Child and other celebrity chefs. The Soup Market opened in 2004 and they currently operate 3 retail locations and sell soups wholesale to other restaurants, delis, bakeries and grocery stores.
As David mentions in the interview, he didn’t do it alone. He had mentors and help along the way who taught him that when things get tough, keep going.
David has had ups and downs in his business and learned many wonderful lessons along the way.
