I read this week that the top concern among Wisconsin independent business owners are the state, national and global economy, in that order.
49% of polled owners picked one of those three as their top concern right now.
Amazing.  The economy has surpassed labor and hiring, inflation, sales slowdowns, healthcare and regulations as the top overall concern.
Awesome.  Here are a few way to think about this.
First, the economy is ALWAYS dealing with some sort of manufactured crisis.  As I shared in the Daily Dose of Business, here are just a few of the issues over the past 25 years or so.
Here’s the good news.  In times of uncertainty there is more opportunity available than at any other point in any sort of economic cycle, and the more tumultuous, the better.  If you’re one to look for opportunities anyhow.
For example, we talk to business owners pretty much all the time, and a lot of them are starting to circle the wagons.  They are experiencing fear even though digging into their business, there is nothing but opportunity for them if they stay the course.
Now, it might be true that there will be some shrink in Net Profit as you increase things like your investment in marketing, but now – right now – is the time to upgrade talent, increase market share, and focus on your customers because their other providers of whatever you do are likely to be pulling back on messaging and growth.
It’s crazy but true, and in this Newsletter, there is a download of 10 specific ways you can rethink your business right now so that you can take advantage of any environment.
And if you want the easy button, our coaches are available to have a discussion with you.
Just avoid one specific emotion like the plague, and that emotion is fear.
